Quasinormal ringing of regular black holes in asymptotically safe gravity: the importance of overtones

چکیده

Abstract Asymptotically safe gravity is based on the idea that main contribution to Schwarzschild-like black hole spacetime due value of gravitational coupling which depends distance from origin and approaches its classical in far zone. However, at some stage this approach has an arbitrariness choice identification parameter. The two cases are considered here: first, by modified proper length (the Bonanno-Reuter metric), second, Kretschmann scalar metric for case coincides, up redefinition constants, with Hayward metric). Even though quasinormal modes these metrics have been extensively studied, a number interesting points were missed. We found qualitatively similar both types identification. deviation fundamental mode Schwarzschild limit may be few times larger than it was claimed previous studies. striking occurs overtones, being as large hundreds percent even when almost coinciding one. This happens because above very close one everywhere, except small region near event horizon, crucial overtones. spectrum contains purely imaginary (non-oscillatory) modes, which, values parameters, can appear already second overtone.

Structural aspects of asymptotically safe black holes

We study the quantum modifications of classical, spherically symmetric Schwarzschild (Anti-) de Sitter black holes within Quantum Einstein Gravity. The quantum effects are incorporated through the running coupling constants Gk and Λk, computed within the exact renormalization group approach, and a common scalesetting procedure. We find that, in contrast to common intuition, it is actually the c...

Asymptotically hyperbolic black holes in Hǒrava gravity

Solutions of Hořava gravity that are asymptotically Lifshitz are explored. General near boundary expansions allow the calculation of the mass of these spacetimes via a Hamiltonian method. Both analytic and numeric solutions are studied which exhibit a causal boundary called the universal horizon, and are therefore black holes of the theory. The thermodynamics of an asymptotically Anti-de Sitter...

Object picture of quasinormal ringing on the background of small Schwarzschild Anti-de Sitter black holes

We investigated the evolution of a scalar field propagating in small Schwarzschild Anti-de Sitter black holes. The imaginary part of the quasinormal frequency decreases with the horizon size and the real part of the quasinormal frequency keeps nearly as a constant. The object-picture clarified the question about on the quasinormal modes for small Anti-de Sitter black holes. Dependence of quasin...

Dilaton gravity black holes with regular interior

In a one parameter family of dilaton gravity theories which allow the coupling of the dilaton to gravity and to a U(1) gauge field to differ, we have found the existence of everywhere regular spacetimes describing black holes hiding expanding universes inside their horizon.

Listening for Ringing Black Holes

The gravitational radiation produced by binary black holes during their inspiral, merger, and ringdown phases is a promising candidate for detection by the first or second generation of kilometer-scale interferometric gravitational wave antennas. Waveforms for the last phase, the quasinormal ringing, are well understood. I discuss the feasibility of detection of the quasinormal ringing of a bla...
